Hailing from Pakistan, Javaid is proud to have served the Pakistan Army in a variety of command and staff positions before taking early retirement, honourably retiring as a Major in 1985. Javaid was educated at the prestigious Government College Lahore and the University of Peshawar, obtaining his bachelor’s degree in Law & Political Sciences. Javaid has also attended numerous executive education courses in finance and management at the University of Calgary for ongoing personal development. Javaid emigrated to Canada in 1988 and was included in the 1994-1998 edition of the Historical Society of Alberta’s Who’s Who in Alberta publication. He and his wife currently reside in the Calgary area. Javaid is a proud father of two adult children and enjoys golfing, reading and learning new languages in his rare – but cherished – downtime.
