Establishment of Canadian supply chain for Libyan Oil Sector
In 1989, Javaid established Oil Field Equipment and Services Supply in Calgary to cater to the needs of the Libyan oil sector. In just two years, this company became a major supplier of Canadian manufactured oilfield equipment such as drilling equipment, pipe, storage tanks, pressure vessels, valves, flanges and fittings. This supply chain has survived decades of political and economic challenges, and Javaid has maintained his operations in Tripoli to this day.

Through his Austrian Management Company – J S Management GmbH – Javaid secured marketing rights to develop sales and service centres for Volvo, Atlas Copco, Roberts Bosch, and SKF Bearing in Libya. Through delicate negotiations with Libyan partners, Javaid created a business model that thrived for almost a decade in a very volatile and challenging market.
ZTE Telecom in Pakistan
In the late 90s, Javaid established and developed ZTE Telecom in Pakistan, which is a subsidiary of ZTE Corporation China – a global leader in telecommunications and information technology. ZTE Pakistan provides wireless, core network, access carriers and terminals communications products and services. Javaid was closely involved in the management and development of this telecom equipment manufacturer, increasing its presence to almost 20% of market share while reducing the prices of telecommunications infrastructure by 50% and creating many high-tech jobs in Pakistan. ZTE has enabled increased connectivity and productivity in Pakistan through their work in land line switches, billing and customer care systems, CDMA, GSM and fiber optical projects in partnership with Pakistan Telecommunication Company Ltd and other telecom operators.
Road restoration in Afghanistan
Following many decades of conflict and neglected maintenance, a number of roads in Afghanistan required significant repair and rebuilding. As marketing and management partner of the China Railway Corporation 14th Bureau Group, Javaid was involved in the execution of two such infrastructure projects between 2003 and 2005. The first was the EU-funded restoration and rebuilding of a 74.3 km road from Surobi to Jalalabad. The second project, funded by the World Bank, included about 80 km of road from Pul-e-Khumri to Shirkhan Bandar, and Kunduz to Talaqan. Considerable expertise in project management, logistic support, and security was required to deliver this project on schedule—given the volatile and often dangerous environment.
Burger King Franchises
In 2002, Javaid became a franchisee of Burger King in North America. He developed a team which grew from 4 locations to 30 franchises in the Canadian provinces of Alberta and Saskatchewan. His franchise operation through Sadiq Holdings Inc. has been declared best franchise of North America 4 times.
Peshawar-Karachi Motorway, Multan-Sukkur Section
Part of the China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), this 6-lane, controlled access motorway is the single largest project of CPEC. The 392-kilometre Multan-Sukkur section starts from Multan, Punjab province, in the north and connects to Sukkur, Sindh province, in south Pakistan, essentially following the left bank of the River Indus. The motorway has reduced the commuting time between the two cities from 6 hours to 3 hours. The Multan-Sukkur section was completed and inaugurated on November 5, 2019. As a Chief Consultant to CSCEC, Javaid was involved in all stages of this greenfield project, which was proudly completed on schedule.

This landmark project was undertaken by China State Construction Engineering Corporation (CSCEC), one of the largest state-owned construction companies of China. Javaid has been engaged with CSCEC, first as a partner and subsequently as a shareholder and Executive Director of CSCEC Pakistan Branch. It took almost 6 years to build the new 4-level, 190,370 square metre passenger terminal building, which officially opened May 1, 2018. Initially set to have a capacity of 9 million passengers, by 2025 the airport is expected to be capable of handling up to 25 million making it the largest airport in Pakistan.
